Rice Krispie Chicken Goujons ππ
These Rice Krispie Chicken Goujons have been such a hit this week! Theyβre crunchy, flavourful, and perfect for picky toddlers who enjoy crispy textures.
Why I love them
High in protein
Chicken is an excellent source of protein to support growth and development.
Fortified with key nutrients
Rice Krispies are often fortified with nutrients including iron, vitamin D, and vitamin B12.
Packed with savoury flavour
Nutritional yeast adds a cheesy, savoury taste without needing lots of salt β ideal for little ones.
Extra nutritional boost
Nutritional yeast also provides fibre and contains nutrients such as B vitamins, including B12 and folate.
Toddler-friendly texture
The crispy coating can be especially appealing for children who prefer crunchy foods.
Perfect served with homemade wedges, peas, or a yoghurt dip!
Recipe (makes 8-10 goujons)
1 large chicken breast, cut into strips
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp flour
1 egg, whisks
60g slightly crushed rice krispies
Method
Mix the chicken in the paprika, nutritional yeast, flour and onion powder.
Dip each chicken strip into the egg. Then dip each chicken strip into the rice krispies.
Put in the air fryer (205- fryer mode) for 8 mins. Turn halfway.
(I froze half of these chicken goujons for another day- before cooking)
Delicious! I served them with veg, homemade crinkle sweet potato chips and mayo.
