Weaning Weetabix Pancakes
These pancakes are a great option for babies who are getting the hang of finger foods, and toddlers love them too! They’re nutritious, easy to make, and a budget-friendly breakfast.
Weetabix is a good source of fibre and is fortified with iron and folic acid.
These pancakes contain common allergens, including wheat (from Weetabix), egg, and peanuts 🥜.
Ensure each allergen has been safely introduced and is already tolerated before combining them, particularly for younger babies or if there is a history of allergy.
Ingredients (makes 6–8 pancakes)
1 Weetabix
1 medium banana
2 eggs
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp smooth peanut butter
Method
Blitz the Weetabix into fine crumbs.
Mash the banana, then whisk in the eggs, cinnamon, and peanut butter.
Stir in the Weetabix until well combined.
Heat a little oil in a frying pan.
Spoon in the batter (you may need to cook in batches) and cook for 2 minutes on each side.
For a firmer texture, finish in a preheated oven at 180°C for 5 minutes.
Serve with fruit and yoghurt 🍑🍓
Delicious warm or cold.
